Thursday night - we bring the best in local musicians. This week? Bassist Bill “Majic” Lavender-Bey
Bill Lavender-Bey plays the bass, the foundation instrument of jazz. It anchors the groove, frees up the other musicians to both articulate the melody and stray from it during solos. The bassist is the branch manager of the music — dispensing the helpful notes, keeping everyone on time and focused on the job at hand.
